Dr. Wayne Dyer was an incredible teacher. He was an internationally renowned self-help author, motivational speaker, and philosopher. Unfortunately, he left this world in 2015, but his words will be around forever. He has written countless books, the first one published in 1976 (Erroneous Zones). He is also the author of some of my most beloved quotes, like this one:
I first read this quote many years ago and got chills down my spine. I love when you read a quote, and you just have to pause and ponder it. Well, that happened for me with this one. Let's break it down. Infinite patience. What does that mean? Imagine having patience forever. When you are impatient, you are anxious, eager, and restless. So what would the opposite be, being patient? At peace, calm, or without irritation. It's like going from restless to peace; indefinitely. This quote means a lot to me because I can be so very impatient. And it's like the old saying, 'a watched pot never boils' and that is so true. Being impatient does not make anything happen quicker; the only thing it does is disrupt your own inner peace. This quote also has a feeling of letting go. Just relax, and let whatever you are anxious about happen whenever it happens. Letting go is a great way of bringing back inner peace. And here's where the other part of the quote comes into play.
Often if we can relax and let go, (have infinite patience), things can happen immediately. I have seen this happen many times in my own life. I think it's one of those beautiful laws of our universe.
Here is another quote I love:
This quote is so profound. Often we get caught up in life's stresses and can develop a very pessimistic view of life. Once a negative viewpoint is established, it can seem like our whole existence is gloomy. A change of perspective seems foolish now since everywhere we look we have proof that life stinks! That's where this quote comes into play. I have tried this in my own life and I am a living testament that this works. It may seem counterintuitive at first but try it. Even have an open mind. Say to yourself, 'maybe tomorrow won't be the same as today. Maybe it will be a little easier.' Take small steps, and you will be pleasantly surprised.
I love quotes, and find them to be inspiring and helpful! I am here to share my favorites!
